New Creations...

In my shop, you notice there are rarely any earrings. Why?! Well, I do not typically wear them. So, I just do not think to make them.

Lately, I have gotten numerous requests for earrings.

I know there are many giftcard earring makers on Etsy now. Since I started selling upcycled gift card jewelry, TONS of others have followed.

But, I am going to put my JUPITA twist on things. I hope you enjoy my Unique One of a Kind Jupita Originals!!!

another project

As a side project, while I was working on the rockin awesome mosaic, I made this mosaic box.



Random starbucks gift card remnants collaged onto this wooden box. It measures 3.3 inches deep, 5.5 inched wide and 8.5 inches long.

Mission Completion

This is the last photograph I took of the mosaic in progress.



There are about 4 hours left of work left from this point. In addition, I have to seal it and frame it. Then it is off to Cali!!


I will update again tomorrow, after the clear sealant coat is dry.

About 50% complete

When I initially took on this project, I felt as though it would be as easy one of my acrylic pieces. Boy was I WRONG!!

Do not get me wrong though, I am thoroughly enjoying it. There is something quite satisfying about watching the slow, yet steady progress of this piece.

Here is a shot of the mosaic at about 50% completion. As you can see, my Artist ADD has me jumping all over the place here!




I really do hope the gentleman that commisioned this piece enjoys it as much as I do!

Work In progress...

Without realising exactly what to expect, I accepted the commision. Now, I think I have under-charged for the piece!!

Last night, I spent three hours working on the mosaic. Cutting. Adhering. Setting. Oh, my goodness!!

I felt like I should have been done! But, alas, I still have about 75% more to do!

Concentration is on the larger elements. Once that is completed, I will go back and fill in any tiny spots that need it.

New projects underway

Over the past year, I have been creating jewelry, bags, accessories and a curtain. Each of these items was made with guft cards. Those gift cards were headed for the circular filing cabinet (aka garbage).

Now, I am working on a 2 ft by 3 ft mosaic. It is commisioned piece. Here is a shot of the first days work (about an hours worth of work.)




I will periodically post photos of the piece.

Once it is completed, I will ship it off to its new home. THEN, I will offer up for sale notecards and prints of the piece!! YAY!! What fun!
